So, it begins again – my quest to be a novelist.
Well, perhaps I am already a novelist. I participated in NaNoWriMo and drafted my first novel; and if it is true that the only difference between a writer and a writer wannabe is that the writer writes while the wannabe just wants, then I am already a novelist. I have written a novel. Now, I want to be a published novelist.
To be published, however, my work needs to be tight. It needs polish. It needs coherence. It needs . . . a lot of work.
So that work begins today – tonight – and I’m going to reread what I’ve done, adjust the flow of events, and dig into my work until I have something to present a publisher.
Wish my luck, everyone. Already I have my first two goals for the year 2010: finish this NaNoWriMo novel, and participate in NaNoWriMo 2010.
